A unit measures review work, not a number of reviews. A small pull request costs the minimum for its mode (Quick 0.5, Standard 1, Deep 2); a large one uses more, up to a hard per-review cap. Most pull requests cost the minimum, so 50 units is roughly 50 typical Standard reviews.
Every review has a ceiling. However large the pull request, one review can never cost more than 10 units in Quick mode, 20 in Standard or 40 in Deep. Most pull requests cost the minimum, but a very large one can use a meaningful share of a month's allowance — so an estimate based on comparable reviews in that repository is shown before you run one, and the exact cost is recorded against the review afterwards.
Your plan's units refresh each billing period and unused ones don't carry over. If you need more, you can buy a top-up pack at any time from $0.25 per unit — purchased units never expire and are only spent once your monthly allowance is gone.
When your balance reaches zero, reviews pause. Nothing is charged to your card automatically, and every review in your history shows exactly what it cost.
